Higher Education Design Quality Forum appoints new Trustee

HEDQF is delighted to announce that at its most recent meeting of Trustees, John Plumridge was appointed to the Board.

John is currently Director of Estates at Birmingham City University and brings over 30 years’ experience of developing and managing large mixed-use Estates comprising land and buildings.   John is a Chartered General Practice Surveyor and a qualified Architect and also a Design Council Built Environment expert member of the National Design Review panel.

John was Director of Development for the West Midlands at English Partnerships and was Director of Estates and Facilities at De Montfort University and the University of Lincoln.

He has been the principal client for over £500m worth of Estates renewal work and has completed numerous major new build construction projects; including SIEMENS European Gas Turbine Training Centre and the largest naturally ventilated building in Europe – The Queens Engineering building in Leicester.

On his arrival at Birmingham City University (BCU), John ensured they became Founder Members of HEDQF and hosted a very successful building reference visit to BCU in April this year.

Commenting on the appointment, HEDQF Chair Julian Robinson said:

“It’s important we have HE clients represented in the Board of Trustees.  John brings a wealth of experience and we are delighted he is on board to help shape the future of HEDQF.”
