Study Visit: London Institute for Healthcare Engineering
Venue: The London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE).
The London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), King’s College London’s flagship research and innovation facility, is a ground-breaking new hub where medicine, education and engineering converge to shape the future of healthcare. Situated within the Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital estate and surrounded by Grade I and II listed heritage buildings, LIHE is a contemporary, sustainable building rooted in its historic context and ambitious in its global outlook.
At the heart of LIHE sits the concept of a “Research Eco-system.” This dynamic environment brings together a diverse community of stakeholders: academics, clinicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, and industry specialists, offering a place where multidisciplinary collaboration flourishes. The facility supports translational research in areas including cancer, neurology and prenatal conditions, providing high-tech lab spaces, flexible work environments, and public-facing engagement zones.
