Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL Study Tour

Venue: Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL

08:30 -10:30

Join us for a study tour of Wimbledon College of Arts – a performance-focused campus revitalised by Levitt Bernstein for the University of the Arts London (UAL).

Set within the Merton Hall Road Conservation Area, the project consolidates UAL’s performance-related courses on one site, transforming the existing campus into a state-of-the-art digital education and rehearsal environment. The project combines adaptation, refurbishment, and sensitive retrofit to deliver contemporary facilities that meet the university’s evolving curriculum while respecting the site’s historic character. Hear from Jayne Knowles, Dean, UAL Wimbledon, Matthew Goulcher, Managing Director, and Ben Monteagle, Associate, Levitt Bernstein, who will lead a tour of the annex facilities which will highlight the upgraded spaces and also feature the courses' postgraduate Show. Exploring the new improved performance and rehearsal studios, specialist workshops, and upgraded spaces for set and costume design, screen and visual effects, and theatre production.

Levitt Bernstein's design champions sustainability through a light-touch retrofit approach, retaining much of the existing structure while radically improving energy performance and acoustics. Inside, a simple, honest material palette supports creativity, with exposed services, integrated acoustic treatments, and robust finishes designed for performance in every sense.
