University Success in 2021 Civic Trust Awards (March)

HEDQF is delighted to announce the Civic Trust has again recognised the work of its members in the University sector.

Leading the way were Founder Members: London School of Economics, Kingston University and UCL.

Kingston University’s* Town House project was designed by Grafton Architects with structural engineering undertaken by AKT II* and it was built by Willmott Dixon*

The joint UCL*/ Great Ormond Street Hospital – Zayed Centre, was designed by founder members Stanton Williams*, with cost and project management undertaken by Gardiner and Theobald.*

The Centre Building at the LSE* was designed by RHSP* (architect) and AK II* (structural engineer) and built by Mace* so a true team effort.

Awards was also presented to Oxford University’s*, Cohen Quad at Exeter College, which was built by Mace* and Cambridge University* received a Commendation for their Student Services Centre designed by HEDQF founder members Bennet Associates* with engineering and project management undertaken by Aecom*. Durham University’s Lower Mountjoy Teaching and Learning Centre also received a Commendation and was designed by Faulkner Brown* (architect) and Buro Happold* (structures) and built by Galliford Try*

HEDQF Chair Dr.Ghazwa Alwani-Starr commented “ The great thing about the Civic Trust Awards is they acknowledge the contribution of the whole team and it is wonderful so many of our members and founder members have been recognised in this way.”
